Lady's mile part 2

 An unspoiled and beautiful coastline.

Located in Lemesos (Limassol), this 5 km coastal stretch of stunning, unspoiled sands and shallow waters runs along the east side of Akrotiri.

The beach boasts dark grey sands and crystal-clear and calm seawaters, with the shallowest waters found at the southern end of the beach – where the dark grey sand turns a golden brown colour. Seashells can be found along the beach.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, and umbrellas.

Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April – October.

The beach took its name from the mare of the governor during British rule, who used to ride along the beach. Today, the area is well-known locally for its restaurants of fresh fish and traditional Cypriot cuisine. Some of the restaurants offer their own additional facilities, including water inflatables and games for children.

Around 1.5 km from the seashore you can see Akrotiri Salt Lake, a significant wetland in Europe, which attracts migrating birds, including flocks of vibrant pink flamingos and herons during the winter months. Further south of Lady’s Mile is the unspoiled area of Button Beach, where small coastal sand dunes have grown. The interesting Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas of the Cats – built in 365 – is also located nearby.

Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car-parking available.

Molos park Limassol

his seafront of Limassol is located in front of the center city which is next to the old port until the Olympion beach and is one of the most beautiful parks in the Mediterranean basin.

In 1878 the construction of the first major pier started in Cyprus and inaugurated in 1881.

But it do not stop there after having the steamboats continually approach the anchorage, they had to make a bigger space after the government's decision to help the municipality financially, so in 1912 the waterfront was constructed.

n 1972 with the new mayor of the city the backfill is done and becomes a huge space as you see it today.

Untill today there have been extensions to Molos turning it into a huge long beautiful beach and diversify, thanks to the pressure and interest of Limassolians to the point of the complete demolition of all buildings in the coastal municipal boundaries, to end up as the current Olympians coast.

From the pier you can go on foot to Anexartisias street that is known for its shops, to the Limassol castle, which is surrounded by cafes and restaurants, to the Limassol Marina, which is one of the most important and best ports of the Mediterranean.
