The Hantara Waterfall is located a few minutes north of the village of Fini, amid a beautiful landscape flooded with greenery that is sure to charm anyone who visits.

The water falls from a height of approximately 8 meters, gushing along rough, volcanic rocks. It forms small lakes along its course, like little pools on different levels, and many people enjoy swimming in the cold, crystal waters, especially during the summer.

Legend has it that the goddess Aphrodite once bathed in this magnificent waterfall.

I visited aduringa dry season. The amount of water depends on the rain and if the season is good, the waterfall is thundering!

Double bridge at Trimiklini

Found at Trimiklini  village, it can be seen from above from the big red gas station, and can be reached through a dirtroad (good condition don;t worry) on your left just before the gas station.

The first bridge was built at 1901. With the arrival of cars and motor vehicles, the first bridge was considered inappropriate so the second one on top was built as well.

The elia venetian bridge is located very near the kelefos bridge, and though not as impressive as that one,. I believe it is worth a visit. As always, depending on when you visit the level of the water in the river varies

Avakas gorge

"A masterpiece of nature, Avakas Gorge is situated in the unspoilt Akamas peninsula in northwest Pafos (Paphos). A trekker’s paradise, it offers spectacular views and a generous introduction to local flora and fauna, including the endangered centauria akamantis – an endemic plant found only in the gorge. Carved out of limestone rocks, rising up as high as 30 metres and narrowing dramatically at one point, the gorge is a fairly difficult hike as the rough track winds its way along and over the stream that formed this natural wonder over thousands of years. Parts of the walk are slippery and involve a certain amount of clambering over rocks and stones. Solid footwear and sensible clothes are recommended. Visitors are advised to take ample drinking water and urged not to enter the gorge alone without first informing someone of their plans.

Rich in flora, the gorge has pine trees, cypresses, junipers, wild fig trees, ferns and oaks among other trees as well as a profusion of wild flowers. Prize specimen among them is the extremely rare endemic centauria akamandis with its purple flowers that blossoms in the spring. Animal life includes foxes, hares, falcons, crows, night owls, butterflies and a large number of reptiles. The gorge is some 3km long. A number of travel firms carry out organized visits to the gorge."

Kelefos (tzelefos) medieval bridge 1

Kelefos Bridge is a medieval Venetian bridge crossing the Dhiarizos river in the mountains of Paphos in Cyprus. It is located at the borders of Phini, Agios Nicolaos and Pera Vasa close to the Arminou Dam. This one arch stone bridge has 10.70 m span and 10.7 m width.

During the Cyprus's Venetian period (1489–1571) copper, mined in mountains, was traded with Egypt for silk and gold. The demand of quality trading routes resulted in construction of dozens stone bridges in mountains, used for camel trails connecting distant mines in Troodos Mts. with ports on the island's seashore...

This year, we've had a good rainfall. All the dams of cyprus got full and overflowed-which is a second for me (28 yrs old)-although I missed the first time because I was in Greece. Here';s some shots from the Dam of yermasoyia
