Cyprus historic and classic motor museum part 2

The museum opened its doors on February 2014 and is the only automobile museum in Cyprus. A place of 1000 square meters that is ideal for all types of events such as exhibitions, fashion shows, photo shoots and many others which will be held throughout the year. The founding of the museum, started from 2000, due to the vision of veteran Rally Racing champion of International and Cypriot rally competitions, Mr. Dimi Mavropoulos. Mr Mavropoulos, has also created other organizations in conjunction with the museum such as the Cyprus Historic & Classic Vehicle Club and a Storage for Classic and Modern Cars. The Museum features a Classic Car Rental Service with a driver. You can enjoy special moments of your life whilst tootling along in an historic and unique classic car. This is an ideal choice for weddings, tours of the city of Limassol or even for those times when you feel like doing something different!

Ayia Napa Medieval monastery 1

The charming Medieval Monastery of Agia Napa stands in the middle of the village and was built in the form of a Medieval Castle around 1500 AD.

The monastery is partially built underground and cut into the rock, surrounded by a high wall. It is dedicated to ‘Our Lady of the Forests’, with the name coming from the Ancient Greek word for wooded valley (‘Napa’) as a result of the area’s past topography.

The monastery was restored in 1950 and in 1978 became an Ecumenical Conference Centre, serving churches in Cyprus and the Middle East. After the re-establishment of the Holy Metropolis Constantia Ammochostos (Famagusta) in 2007, the monastery came under the administration of the Metropolis.

A new church - also dedicated to the Virgin Mary - was built in 1994, south west of the monastery.

The ancient sycamore tree in front of the south gate is believed to be over 600 years old.
