Panagia Podithou at Galata
Located in the village of Galata, the church of Panagia Podithou is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of four painted churches in the village.
Once belonging to a monastery, the church was built in 1502 through the donation of Demetre de Coron and his wife Helen. Demetre, a captain of the barony of Pentageia, is known to have been involved in the political disorder of 1461. The monastery functioned until the beginning of the 19th century, but fell into decline and was finally abandoned after 1821 when the Archbishop and other notables were executed following the Greek revolution.
The building is single-aisled with a steep-pitched timber roof. A later portico surrounds the three sides of the church, with the roof sheltering both the church and portico. The mural paintings are of the Italo-Byzantine style that appeared on the island towards the end of the 15th century.

Paramali beach
A beach with wild beauty and several changes of scenery, the coast at Paramali village is simultaneously one of the most recluse, as well as the most active beaches in Cyprus. It is not just a beach that you choose for leisure or immediate access to amenities, but it sure leaves you feeling so much richer in experiences.
Paramali village is located around 25 km west to Limassol and its beach has become quite popular with those doing kitesurfing. Strong winds that blow in the area from time to time, especially in the afternoon, make it an ideal destination for this water sport.
The beach, though, has many special treasures that will be appreciated even by those not into the sports. The scenery on the coast is quite diverse: from huge rocks on the east and west end, to low bushes, fine sands and colorful pebbles. Probably the most impressive thing about the beach is the view from the nearby hills, with the greenest orange trees reaching almost down to the waves.
The sure thing is that a visitor enjoys the serenity in this area, while getting in touch with the elements of nature. After all, the turtles do choose this coast quite often, to lay their eggs. Visitors should be careful, in order not to do harm to this protected sea species. If they are lucky enough, they may watch from a distance the eggs hatching and the baby turtles running towards the water.
