Limassol water tower

The Water Tower was built in 1920 and supplied water to Limassol for almost 30 years. Its location was once the highest point of the entire city, since the few houses of Limassol started from the beach and reached where the tower is today.

The reservoir was created to replace Havuza, which supplied the city with water until the tower was built. It is a distinct point of Limassol, as well as a reference point for visitors.

The height and capacity of the Water Tower was sufficient to supply water to the entire city up until 1947, when the underground water supply system was created.

The pump, which was installed at the lowest point of Limassol, fed the tank through pipes that drew water from the place where there were burrows. The water transport system was innovative, not only for Cyprus, but also for the entire surrounding area.

Koulas at Alaminos, Larnaca

"Koulas" is considered as a 15th century structure and is an oblong, parallelepiped, stone-made castle. It was used by the village's inhabitants, during the old times, so as to observe their enemies coming from the sea and confront them. It was a significant structure for the village's inhabitants, since there were underground tunnels and paths that led from the village to the sea.
